If you are a commonwealth citizen with ancestral links in the UK, you may have the right to work and live in the UK. The following requirements are required to be met under this route:

• You must be 17 years or older.
• You be a commonwealth citizen.
• You must have a grandparent born in the UK, the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man or on a British-registered ship/aircraft.
• You must show you can accommodate and financially support yourself.
• You must demonstrate intention to work in the UK.

You can apply for ILR if you have lived and worked in the UK under the Ancestry Route for a period of 5 years.
